  The Pitt Events Calendar was created in the spring of 2000, in order to serve the student of the University of Pittsburgh. A committee was formed in order to bring the calendar into being by the fall of 2000. The committee consisted of representatives from the College of General Studies Student Government, Student Government Board, the Office of the Provost, the Office of Student Activities, Graduate & Professional Student Association, the Black Action Society, and several other groups.
